We all have experienced pain. Pain of losing your job, child, business, loved one, house, phone and car. No matter how people console you and say, “they understand what you’re going through”, it never seems like it. Its magnitude differs for everyone. The way I loved my job is not similar to how you liked yours or they way I cared for my child is different from how you did yours and how I invested in my business cannot be compared to any other. It is definite that no matter how much we try to understand each other’s pains we still cannot fathom the degree to which the other is hurt.
I know I have undergone pain several times. Losing my child and business were the most major ones. It was not easy as each carried its fair share of discouragement, despair, and hopelessness. The most frightening nightmare was being alone in my pain. However, through these experiences I came to learn that not matter the support I got from friends and family, they would not carry this burden with me for long. After a few days or weeks of consolation, they went back to their lives.
The truth is, despite the suffering you bear everything around you goes on as though nothing happened or changed. The sun continues to rise in the East, children in your neighborhood play cheerfully in their yard, schools reopen as usual, your friends go to work or buy houses/cars, and parties in clubs continue banging every weekend. You are the only one left in your silence, darkness frustration, tears, despair, anger, anxiety, and fear. You are left in your pain.
Therefore, what do you do? Do you cry endlessly watching from your window pane as the world moves?
No. You get up and move because the world is moving. Why? You ask. BECAUSE EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IS MOVING REGARDLESS OF THEIR PAIN.
The lioness does not stop hunting for its remaining cubs because the hyena ate its two cubs. The sun doesn’t stop shining because a lunar eclipse occurred. The entrepreneur doesn’t stop opening new startups because he/she closed two businesses. The truck driver doesn’t stop driving because a truck driver died. A soldier doesn’t fail to go to war because of fellow fallen soldiers. A mother doesn’t stop loving her children because they say they hate her. You don’t stop falling in love again because you were heartbroken.
If everybody and everything in the world stopped moving because of pain, then there will be no world to live in. The trees would say “I have stopped growing because you cut my pine friend a week ago.” Or the bees would say, “I will stop producing honey because you destroyed my home.” A nurse would say, “I can’t offer CPR because a patient died because of me.” There would be no more life to live for because choosing pain is choosing selfishness. All there is in the world is to live through the impossible for one another. Even if we cannot understand each other’s pain, we can help one another move on.
There are numerous reasons why we should not move on because of pain. But the point is, YOU don’t and shouldn’t stop no matter the pain. Because, THE WORLD NEEDS YOU TO MOVE ON REGARDLESS OF YOUR PAIN!
