What is time? Is it a period or an era? Past or Present? Maybe a moment, seconds, minutes, or hours? If God told us we have authority over all things, that should include time, right? Didn’t Joshua stop time and won the war for the Israelites? Then, why does “time wait for no man”? Why are we busy chasing time? Is it because we have no control over it or we choose not to control it?
Why has society limited time? How much time then do we have? 40 years, 70 years, or possibly 100 years? Interestingly, hasn’t God assured us that we have eternity? Doesn’t that mean that we have eternal time? Thus, should we be rushing up and down trying to beat time? Why are we marred with endless deadlines that we have to meet?
Why are you worried that you have not had a kid at 40 years? Or, is it not Sarah- Abraham’s wife – who gave birth to Isaac at 90 years old? Who said one should report to work at 8am and leave at 5pm? Is it not possible for a worker to report at 12 noon, 6pm or even midnight and still be productive? Can’t a student report to school at 11am and be deemed a good pupil? Do all jobs and schools have to start in the morning? Why not at night or in the evening?
If time is unlimited, infinite or eternal, are we then not victims of our own making? How did we conceive that a day has 24 hours and a year 365 days? Science? Lest I forget did not science first say that earth is flat then round? That means we all accept what we are told, right? Hence, why should we feel less productive when we wake up at 10am and not 5am? Should I not feel successful if I opened a business at 55years? Or, is Colonel Sanders less of an entrepreneur because he started his at 65 years? Will I be less healthy if I worked out for two minutes and not a hour? Am I less human if I do not meet a deadline?
So, who defines time? Is it your company? Is it your family? Is it science? Society, maybe? Time itself? Or, is it you?
